Shih-Fang Wang

Main Street

I walk aimlessly down Main Street

Just to see and feel people’s living

At a corner of this city

A man in suit holding a briefcase

Looking straight walking in a hurry

Reminds me of my past busy life

The young couple hand in hand

Engaged in their own conversation

A lovely scene evokes my memories

A small group of uniformed students

Laughing and playing around

A carefree age once I also enjoyed

A hollow-eyed man sitting against a pillar

Oblivious to his surroundings

That site is his home

And I am an onlooker

Trying to imagine their lives

Weaving them into my city impression
